To ja może dodam cos od siebie, z czym mam aktualnie problem. Mianowicie na innych jądrach niż to domyślne, które wgrał system nie zainstalujemy sterowników (na pewno nie Nvidii, nie wiem jak w przypadku ATI) z powodu parametru
EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL(paravirt_ops)
. Powoduje to, ze sterowniki kłócą sie z licencją Debiana i nei da sie ich zainstalować. W takim przypadku czeka nas własnoręczna kompilacja jądra, bez tego własnie parametru. Nie wiem czy komuś się to przyda, ale ja troche szukałem zanim dowiedzalem się, czemu moje sterowniki nie chcą zanstalować się na nowym jądrze...Chociaz podejrzewam, ze większosc instaluje sterowniki na domyslnym jądrze, więc nie powinno być tego problemu.

próbowałem zainstalować stery legacy( mam geforce2 MX 400) - niby wszystko ok, ale po reboocie nie znalazł modułu nvidia - jakieś pomysły?

zainstalowałem z instalatora nvidia i śmiga..

To polecenie musi mieć dostęp de serwera X, czyli prościej mówiąc odpal je jako user, który ma włączone X w np. xtermie.

Ulepszyłem sobie Debiana do wersji Sid i zaczęły się drobne problemy już na starcie. Ponownie mam problemy z Nvidią, tym razem jednak występuje coś kompletnie głupiego. Postępuję zgodnie z instrukcjami i gdy tylko staram się pobrać te wszystkie potrzebne pakiety to wyskakuje mi konflikt, że nie można zainstalować pakietu nvidia-glx gdyż nie mam pakietu kernel-source-<tunemr>. Gdy nagrywam ten pakiet kernel source (to jakiś wirtualny pakiet - nie wiem o co chodzi), to dalej wyskakuje to samo. :/ Podczas samej instalacji sterowników nvidii wyskakuje mi następujący komunikat: nvidia-installer log file '/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' creation time: Thu May 17 15:18:01 2007

Mam Debiana w wersji Sid. Jajko mam w wersji 2.6.18-4-686 oraz 2.6.20<tutaj może być coś jeszcze), ale w tej chwili jestem na tej pierwszej. Czy ktoś potrafi mi pomóc? Lubię mieć sterowniki NVidii, bez nich nie działa Beryl. :/
P.S. Nvidia nie chce się zainstalować ani z paczek, ani repo. Nie pomagują nawet instrukcje Kaka.

SobonPiotr, dlatego, że w Sidzie nie ma linux-headers pod Twoje jądro - zainstaluj najnowsze jądro (2.6.21-1) i linux-headers Kola, a robisz wszystko wg HOWTO i wszystko się instaluje?

Sprawdziłem logi i wyszło mi identycznie jak SobonPiotrowi.
PS. Próbowałem różnych wersji kernela - za każdym razem to samo.
A możnaby nieco jaśniej?? Tak dla newbeeka bym prosił... ;-)

Ja już znalazłem rozwiązanie tego problemu. Te z nvidii nie chcą się zainstalować na tym najnowszym jądrze w bardzo wielu przypadkach, nie wiem czemu, ale znam obejście tego.
Pobierz sterowniki z tej strony http://grizach.servebeer.com/nvpatch/#1 Pobierz dla swojego jądra, a wtedy wszystko powinno pójść gładko. :P

Mam jedno pytanko - czy komuś z czytajacych nie rzucił się jakis błąd w ustawianiu xorg.conf . U mnie zaraz po zainstalowaniu i sprawdzeniu 3D pojawił się bardzo ladny obrazek z kołami zębatymi i ... No właśnie . System zwisł na amen. nic nie działa w momencie otwierania np gedit. poprostu otwiera okno ale w pewnym momencie zwisa wszystko. nawet klawiatura . Dlatego nie jestem w stanie powiedzieć jaki błąd mi wyskakuje bo nie mam jak przełączyć do terminala a nawet konsoli ;/. Zauważyłem ze zawiasy są przy otwieraniu czegokolwiek do edycji . OpenOffice , linuxDCpp . Co ciekawe przekleiłem surowy ( zrobilem sobie kopie przed zmianami ) xorg.conf i działa jak ma działać . tyle ze bez renderingu . Gdzie może siedzieć problem ? P.S. Zaznaczam ze nie czepiam sie tu opisu instalacji bo jest to łopatologia w najlepszym wydaniu :D naprawde fajnie napisane .
