kde4 po aktualizacji nie uruchamia się

Witam. Aktualizowałem sobie Debiana Squeeze i otrzymałem jakże zacne środowisko graficzne kde4. Niestety po uruchomieniu x-ów startx mam widoczny tylko szary ekran z kursorem myszy w kształcie x. Czytałem w jakimś temacie na forum, że wystarczy usunąć folder .kde z katalogu domowego. Niestety nie pomogło, usunąłem też .kde4 i nic nadal ten sam efekt (jak by co skopiowałem cały folder w bezpieczne miejsce). Czy można to jakoś naprawić? Zależy mi na tym abym nie musiał na nowo instalować systemu. Za wszelką pomoc z góry dziękuję.

Co ciekawe dziwi mnie dlaczego np. po wpisaniu /etc/init.d/kdm stop (start i restart również), nie ma żadnej reakcji. Gdyby któryś z doświadczonych użytkowników mógłby powiedzieć mi co i jak.

ÂŚrodowisko nie uruchamia się poprawnie na sterownikach "nv" jak i "nvidia", efekt jest taki sam. Xorga nie wrzucam bo chyba nie będzie potrzebne zwłaszcza że przed aktualizacją wszystko działało jak należy.
