HPLIP - niemożność kontynułowania instalacji automatycznej.

Posiadam Debian Lenny 5.0
Próbowałem zainstalować HPLIP ze skryptu hplip-2.8.12. Wybierałem kolejno tryb automatyczny, Potwierdzam że nazwa mojego Distro to Debian 5.0. Na pytanie czy życzę sobie obsługi drukarek przez LPT odpowiadam negatywnie. Wpisuje hasło roota bądź mojego użytkownika upoważnionego do używania sudo. Długo czekam aż otrzymuje komunikat:

Password incorrect. 2 attempt(s) left.
Ponownie zostaje poproszony o hasło.
Wyjaśniam odrazu repozytoria CD-ROM mam nieaktywnie dodaje mój plik sources.list.
Konfiguracja komputera:
-Procesor Athlon XP 2500+
-Karta graficzna Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 LE
-512 RAM
-Płyta główna ASUS (przepraszam nie pamiętam)
Ostatnie zmiany w porządku chronologicznym:
-Instalacja Debian Etch - nieudana
-Instalacja Lenny
-Instalacja sterowników NVIDIA metodą opisaną w poradniki Kaki
-Błąd wywala mi ze serwer X jest źle skonfigurowany ponowna instalacja pomaga
-Instalacja Kadu
-Instlacja flash player nonfree w Iceweasel metodą opisaną na forum
-Zainstalowanie najnowszych sterowników NVIDIA metodą kaki
-Instalacja wine przez Dodaj/Usuń
-Aktywacja sudo przez visudo
-Instalacja HPLIP

Witam,
wydaje mi się, że autor zamieścił dokładny opis błędu, u mnie też on występuje, z tym, że oprócz zapytania czy na pewno za# wpisy do CD w sources.list wyskakuje mi, że hasło jest nie poprawne!

Coś w ten deseń.
Sprawdziłem w terminalu, litery i znaki z klawiatury poprawnie są odczytywane.
Proszę o jakieś sugestie.

Hej,
z jakiegoś powodu HPLIP nie lubi spolszczonego systemu ( i innych niż angielski, Czesi i Portugalczycy też mieli problem): więc nasza językowa zmienna środowiskowa jest:
pl_PL.UTF-8
a sprawdzamy to:
echo $LANG
Na użytek w instalacji w bieżącej sesji zmieniamy zmienną LANG na:
export LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
I już. Uruchamiamy instalator i lecimy dalej niż root password ;-)
