dysk usb i wolny transfer

Witam.
Kilka dni temu zakupiłem obudowę do dysku twardego i podłączyłem go do serwera, serwer go normalnie wykrył, zamontowałem i chciałem sprawdzić jaki jest transfer zapisu na dysk. I trochę się zdziwiłem bo jest to 3.5MB, a to zbyt mało. Ma ktoś pomysł jak to przyspieszyć? Dysk jest obsługiwany przez sterownik ehci_hcd więc jest dobrze.

I mam jeszcze jeden problem, dysk jest sformatowany jako ntfs, montowany przez ntfs-3g wszystko ładnie działa tylko po kilkunastu minutach użytkowania dysk pada, polecenie: fdisk -l go nie wykrywa

Na pewno dobrze go podłączyłeś? Sprawdź czy nie ma uszkodzonych sektorów lub całych partycji, bo te błędy In/Out nie dobrze wyglądają.
Albo może akurat ten port USB jest uszkodzony, sprawdź na innym.

Wiesz co, chyba rzeczywiście był port uszkodzony, bo na innym działa poprawnie, tylko dalej występuje też problem z wolnym transferem, około 3.5MB/s. Wiesz może jak to rozwiązać?

Czy to normalne że hdparm -t /dev/sdb1 pokazuje taki wynik?
/dev/sdb1:
Timing buffered disk reads: 12 MB in 3.47 seconds = 3.46 MB/sec Według mnie to troche mało.
Nawet na dysk ata, podłączony przez usb do komputera.
Z lsusb -v wynika że jest on podłączony do usb 2.0, więc nie wiem co robic :| , potrzebuje jakiegos rozwiązania bo usiłuje uruchomic na tym dysku program biurowy(w dosie) i bardzo zamula. Prosze o jakąkolwiek pomoc.
